Summary
This position is responsible for leading floor Materials Management members to work successfully and safely to meet the needs of its customers, both internal and external. This position is responsible for managing, coordinating, and executing to internal flow/control of materials to support the needs of all production areas. You must effectively communicate with multiple departments to mitigate any bottlenecks in the supply chain to eliminate the risk of production downtime.
Responsibilities:
- Manage daily scheduling of trucks bringing in materials, escalating to carriers as needed
- Escalate grouping or invoicing errors as well as any damage claims upon receipt of products
- Ensure the team follows processes related to tracking and maintaining inventory, escalating issues caused by deviations from established processes
- Oversee logistics and production support, materials, inventory, delivery, conveyance, demand analysis, scheduling, and forecast analysis
- Track KPIs affecting the materials management team
- Inspire team members to believe in the value of the company and its processes
- Identify and lay out processes for non-standard work and non-conforming product
- Uphold quality standards for finishing product and shipping, including identifying defected material and holding and escalating to production departments if necessary
- Actively manage working and non-working inventories in assigned businesses to maintain compliance
- Conduct thorough and timely Layered Process Audits in appropriate work areas
- Maintain cleanliness at work-site in accordance with 5S3R Standards:
- Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain
- Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required, MBA or MS preferred, or equivalent, relevant experience
Experience:
- 7 to 10+ years of related experience
- 3+ years in materials and warehousing (preferred)
- 3 to 6+ years of experience leading and managing multiple processes
- Supervisory experience in LGESMI (preferred)
- Experience with large production lines and floor management

- Comfort around higher management

- Delegation and directing teams to meet goals
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed to support entire production team
