Sous Chef | Creative Dining Services

The Sous Chef supports the Production Manager & Executive Chef in producing high‑quality, safe, and cost‑effective food. Works collaboratively with the dining services team and assists with all aspects of dining operations to ensure excellent hospitality.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate production and temperature logs, including food usage, overages/shortages, customer counts, and all required cooling, holding, and storage temperatures.
  • Time food production so all items are ready for service, following Function Sheets to meet menu specifications and event timelines.
  • Produce and maintain prep sheets and duty rosters to support efficient daily workflow.
  • Store, label, and date all food items according to safety and quality standards.
  • Communicate production needs and operational concerns to the Executive Chef promptly and appropriately.
  • Partial food ordering and inventory.
  • Supervision of staff and other administrative duties

The Ideal Candidate will have:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Culinary Arts degree preferred
  • 1 – 3 years cooking experience, including prep and catering execution
  • ServSafe Certification
  • First Aid training
  • Self-starter who takes ownership and thrives in a team-oriented environment

Physical Demands / Work Environment:

Work in a commercial kitchen with hot, cold, or humid conditions. Role requires standing, moving equipment and inventory, and lifting up to 25 lbs. Includes AM/PM shifts, weekends, holidays, and occasional extended hours. Accommodations available as needed.
