Primary Function

The primary role of the Senior Regional Sales Manager (SRSM) is to provide leadership for the assigned region's territory sales representatives and to attain company sales and profit objectives within their assigned channel. The SRSM will develop and maintain relationships with key customers at all levels of the aligned channel along with engaging in new business development activities. The Senior Regional Sales Manager will report to the National Sales Channel Manager and work collectively across the organization to roll out programs and initiatives that promote loyalty and enhance the customer experience.

Smith Water Treatment and the customer facing team to ensure mutual sustained success in tackling their market’s water challenges and opportunities

Responsibilities

  • Manage sales and business development activities for the A. O. Smith Water Treatment brands within the assigned region and channel.
  • Facilitate tactical efforts to achieve channel’s strategic goals.
  • Work with the National Sales Channel Manager to ensure proper allocation of resources to meet growth objectives
  • Assist your TSRs to qualify new prospects and ensure customers are placed in the proper channel to maximize the benefit to the customer and A. O. Smith
  • Self-starter who can work independently to proactively overcome challenges and create opportunities as well as make decisions for the betterment of the channel and region
  • Develop and implement a training plan for your region to ensure continued development of your team and customers.
  • Ensure representation at relevant industry events and associations such as WQA, NGWA, PHCC, etc.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, changes, and innovations.
  • Meet sales and expense objectives for your region outlined in the annual budget.
  • Assist with opportunities and provide field leadership support when needed.
  • Recruit, hire and onboard new TSRs within your region.
  • Willingness to provide coverage for open territories.
  • Administer quarterly reviews and planning sessions with your team and customers to gauge progress, overcome challenges and review opportunities.
  • Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management or Marketing
  • MBA a plus
  • Minimum of 10+ years related experience.
  • A solid understanding of the residential and commercial water treatment industry, applications and distribution models
  • Willingness to adapt in a high-paced and ever changing professional work environment
  • Articulate and professional communications skills, including the ability to create and present executive level presentations.
  • Ability to manage and motive a team of territory sales representatives
  • Strategic planning skills and the ability to create and manage budgets and forecast sale volume.
  • Ability to deal with a wide range of customer organizations.
  • Strong skills in the business development, account management and sales process.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Products is required.
  • Travel as needed, approximately 60 -75% of the time.
