Full Time Pharmacy Technician

Pharmacy technician is essential healthcare professionals working under direct supervision of a Florida licensed pharmacist to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient medication preparation and distribution. They operate in inpatient and outpatient settings, managing inventory, preparing compounded medications, operating automated dispensing systems, and processing prescriptions to support patient care and safety.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPT) in good standing with the Florida Board of Pharmacy is required

Preferred Qualifications:

2-3 years of hospital pharmacy experience

PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board)

Job Knowledge:

1. Assists the Pharmacist with label preparation, batch filling, and visitor assistance.

2. Manages high-volume communication by screening coming calls and troubleshooting inquiries to ensure efficient workflow.

3. Inventory Management: Maintains optimal supply levels through proactive reordering and rigorous adherence to protocols for expunging expired medications. Identifies and alerts staff to low-stock high-alert medications to prevent shortages.

4. Accurately fills medication orders and secures required Pharmacist verification and signatures prior to delivery to hospital units and Pyxis

5. Generates and prepares specialized reports as required

6. Oversees the receipt and storage of incoming pharmaceutical shipments, ensuring all records comply with established tracking protocols.

7. Actively engages in departmental performance improvement initiatives and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities.

8. Assist pharmacist with the storage, labeling, and distribution of investigational drug products.

9. Supports the delivery of pharmaceutical care by recognizing critical dosage variations or major discrepancies consulting with the Pharmacist for clinical clarification when necessary.

10. Executes all duties within a framework that prioritizes patient safety, minimizes medical errors, and upholds a high standard of quality care.

11. Audit and action medication recall reports to ensure patient safety.

12. Ensure the removal of expired stock and maintain the Pharmacy Expired Medication Report.

13. Assist the pharmacist to manage and maintain the Emergency kit(s) on monthly basis

14. Maintain daily temperature logs for the pharmacy and medication rooms to ensure integrity.

15. Ensures the pharmacy remains in a clean, organized, and compliant state.

Schedule :

Monday – Friday 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM 

Possible weekend rotation in the future
