Special Education Teacher Assistant

Hollywood, SC | Full-Time - 37.5 hours/week

W-2 | $25-$30/hr | Great benefits!

 

HealthPRO Pediatrics is seeking a full-time Special Education Teacher Assistant to support students with diverse learning and behavioral needs in a school-based setting. This role works under the direction of a certified special education teacher to assist with instructional delivery, classroom management, and implementation of individualized student supports.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support to students in both small group and one-on-one settings
  • Assist with implementation of IEP goals and accommodations
  • Support classroom instruction and daily activities
  • Help manage student behavior using established intervention strategies
  • Collect and record student data as directed by the teacher or BCBA
  • Assist with transitions, routines, and reinforcement strategies
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and support staff
  • Maintain a safe, supportive, and structured learning environment

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Previous experience working with children, preferably in a special education setting
  • Experience supporting students with autism, ADHD, or other developmental needs preferred
  • Ability to follow directions and implement behavior and instructional plans
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
