Job DetailsJob Location: Houma, LA 70360Purpose: The Rodman is an entry-level position whose role is to support the Party Chief and Instrument Man as needed.   Work Schedule: Nominal 10 hours per day, Monday through Saturday. Overtime may be required on short notice to meet project deadlines.   Responsibilities: Assist the Party Chief and Instrument Man with all field survey tasks as directed. Perform manual fieldwork, including brush clearing, tree cutting, and pipeline probing. Load and unload vehicles, boats, and off-road equipment. Clean and maintain vehicles, boats, buggies, and survey equipment regularly. Ensure all necessary supplies are stocked and ready for each job (e.g., flagging, nails, hammers, lumber, sweepers). Clean and charge all electronic equipment (e.g., radios, GPS units) at the end of each workday. Maintain clean and filled ice chests and water coolers for field use. Follow all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.   Work Conditions: Outdoor fieldwork in varying weather conditions. Exposure to uneven terrain and remote locations Early morning start times are common.  Qualifications Able to perform all essential duties reliably. High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required. Follow written and verbal instructions with clarity and practical reasoning. Solve basic problems in routine field situations. Physically fit for walking, lifting, climbing, and manual tasks. Capable of lifting/moving up to 100 pounds regularly. Good vision: near, far, color, depth, and focus. Comfortable working on waterways; swimming ability recommended.
