JOB SUMMARY:聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽
Under the direction of the Radiology Medical Director, the CT technologist:聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽
- Performs computed tomography procedures and related techniques, producing sectional & 3-dimensional images at the request of and for interpretation by a licensed independent practitioner.聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽
- Ensures services are performed in a safe environment in accordance with established guidelines and regulatory requirements.聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽
- Serves as part of the imaging center team and seeks as well as provides feedback for improved clinical practice.聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 聽
- Receives, relays, and documents verbal, written, and electronic orders in the patient's medical record.聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽
- Corroborates patient's clinical history with physicians order and procedure, ensuring information is documented and available for use by a licensed independent practitioner. May also verify informed consent, if applicable.聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽
- Assumes responsibility for patient needs during procedures.聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽
- Identifies, prepares, positions patient, and competently performs procedure by using established CT protocols or as prescribed by a licensed independent practitioner for diagnostic interpretation or intervention, to achieve the highest quality image.聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽
- Applies principles of ALARA to minimize exposure to patient, self, and others.聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽
- Performs venipuncture and maintains intravenous access as prescribed by a licensed independent practitioner.聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽
- Identifies, prepares, and/or administers medications as prescribed by and under the direction of a licensed independent practitioner in accordance with state and federal regulations.聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽
- Evaluates images for technical quality, ensuring proper identification is recorded.聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽
- Provides education to patients and other health care providers.聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽
- Performs ongoing quality assurance activities.聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽
- Conducts POC Creatinine clearance testing in accordance with established CT protocols or as prescribed by a licensed independent practitioner for diagnostic interpretation.聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽
- Following the direction of a licensed independent practitioner, assists with interventional computed tomography procedures and applies appropriate aseptic surgical technique as needed.聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽
- Selects appropriate CT technical exam factors with consideration given to established protocols and other factors influencing data acquisition parameters.聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽
- Establishes ownership of clinical area by taking pride in appearance and readiness of exam rooms, equipment, and supplies.聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽
- Participates in performance improvement activities.聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽
- Manipulates and reconstructs digital data for display or hard copy records, ensuring proper identification is evident.聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽
- Maintains archival storage of digital data as appropriate.聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽
- Assists in maintaining supply inventory.聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽
- Takes the initiative to help other modalities/areas of the Imaging Center as assigned or when work load/area allows.聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽
- Demonstrates consistent use of AIDET (Acknowledge patient, Introduce yourself, provide Duration/timeline for test, Explain the test & Thank them for choosing the center) and HEAL (Hear them out, Empathize, Apologize, & Leap into action to solve) when interacting with patients/customers.聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽
- Attends/participates in staff meetings, in-services, and center-wide meetings as scheduled.聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽
- Performs all other duties as assigned.聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽
Requirements
EXPERIENCE:聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽
- Up to 5 years experience as a CT Technologist聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽
EDUCATION:聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽
- Must have a minimum Associates Degree in Radiology or be a graduate of an accredited two-year radiology program.聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽
聽Must be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiography and maintain current valid registration from ARRT. CT advanced registration through ARRT is required upon hire or within the first 12 months of employment. Additionally, must meet the state licensure requirement for the state in which they practice.

- Skill in operation of CT equipment as well as applicable ancillary equipment.聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽
- Ability to work independently and multitask.聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽
- Ability to provide documentation accurately and concisely.聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽
- Demonstrates understanding of human cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, pathology, radiopharmacology, and medical terminology.聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽
- Knowledge of computer applications, including information and billing systems, keyboard input, digital archiving, and retrieving of data.聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽
