Credit & Collections Specialist — Holtsville, NY

Position Overview

Join a long‑established, Long Island company as our next Credit & Collections Specialist. In this role, you’ll play a key part in strengthening our cash flow, supporting our accounts receivable operations, and building positive relationships with customers nationwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delinquent account outreach — Contact customers with professionalism and courtesy to resolve outstanding balances
  • Account documentation — Maintain accurate records of payments, statuses, and communication history
  • Payment tracking — Monitor commitments and ensure timely follow‑through
  • Credit application review — Process applications and request additional information when needed
  • Credit verification — Confirm references through outreach or reporting tools
  • Credit limit assessment — Evaluate payment behavior and recommend adjustments
  • Risk escalation — Flag higher‑risk accounts for management review
  • AR monitoring — Review AR and cash reports to identify trends
  • Team collaboration — Partner with collections and customer service teams to resolve issues
  • Customer communication — Maintain strong, professional relationships through clear communication
  • System proficiency — Use Microsoft Office and internal tools to manage accounts and documentation

Requirements

  • 3+ years in accounts receivable, credit, or collections
  • Strong organization and the ability to manage multiple accounts
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Professional phone presence and strong interpersonal skills
  • Clear written and verbal communication
  • Reliable follow‑up and task management
  • Solid math skills for balances and credit calculations
  • Ability to stay calm and professional in challenging conversations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer systems
  • Comfort working in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment

Work Environment

Our office is energetic, collaborative, and focused on delivering exceptional service.

You’ll work within a collections team of five to six people, partnering closely with customer service representatives to support the order and payment process. It’s a place where people stay, grow, and take pride in the work they do.

This is a Permanent position based out of Holtsville, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $47840.00 - $52000.00/yr.

Full medical insurance is paid for (Copay, Surgeries, ect.) 401k with 4% match that you can contribute to after 1 year of working there 5 PTO days year 1, 10 PTO year 2, 15 PTO year 5 56 hours of sick time 3-4% raise every year based on performance
