Lifesteps is hiring a Child Development and Family Resources Supervisor for the Family Services Department in Butler, PA.

Position Summary: 

The Supervisor, Child Development and Family Resources, provides oversight of community based developmental screenings for children birth to 5 years of age. The Supervisor provides leadership of the developmental screening staff across multiple counties, schedules community-based and preschool screening dates, and performs outreach and education with families, child care/preschool administrators, and early intervention programs to connect children and families to early intervention and other community resources.

The Supervisor's communication, time-management, and problem solving skills can support families and educators to help each child achieve their potential.

Management responsibilities such as oversight of approximately 3 employees, conducting performance reviews, training new employees, managing the time off requests, etc. are part of this role.

This full-time position works Monday through Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm with weekends off! 

 

Position Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Intervention, Early Childhood, Special Education, Child Development, Family Relations,  Speech Language Pathology, or Family Studies (or a similar major is preferred)
  • OR a Bachelor’s Degree with 15 hours in the above list and one year of full-time or full-time equivalent experience working directly with preschool children with disabilities and their families  
  • A minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience is required plus strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are necessary 
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid driver's license which legally permits operating a motor vehicle in Pennsylvania 
  • Experience in establishing and sustaining community collaborations, knowledge of outside agencies and strong leadership skills preferred
  • Computer experience in Microsoft Office/Word/Excel preferred.
