 DEPARTMENT: Transmission Sub Relay Engineering 

STARTING SALARY: 15 - $20 /hr Commensurate with major and classification level.

JOB SUMMARY PURPOSE:

Provides engineering and project support for Transmission, Substation, and Relay (TSR) facilities by assisting with design activities, equipment and material evaluations, procurement support, construction oversight, and process improvement initiatives. Supports the successful execution of projects while ensuring compliance with Company policies, safety standards, regulatory requirements, and established engineering practices. Performs other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

  • Enrolled as a full-time undergraduate college student (12 hours or more) or a full-time graduate college student (9 hours or more) in a 4-year college/university.

  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, Data Analytics, or Data Science. 

  • Maintain full-time undergraduate or graduate enrollment throughout the duration of the internship.

  • Classified as a Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or Graduate student.

  • Maintain an overall GPA at a minimum of 3.0/4.0 or above. 

  • Students must be in “good standing” with their respective university to participate in our program. This includes G.P.A., classification, and number of credit hours earned.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: 

  • Experience in AutoCAD preferred.

  • Ability to operate a personal computer and software such as Excel, Word, and Project.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with officers, managers, fellow

  • employees, and the general public.

  • Ability to maintain a strong sense of propriety concerning confidential matters.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:  

  • Assist with the design, analysis, and engineering of Transmission, Substation, and Relay (TSR) facilities and related infrastructure projects.

  • Review and evaluate project materials, equipment, and technical specifications in collaboration with TSR Engineers.

  • Support procurement activities by assisting with material selection, equipment specifications, and vendor documentation.

  • Complete assigned project tasks and deliverables within established schedules and deadlines.

  • Assist in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of TSR processes, procedures, and engineering standards.

  • Support engineers during construction activities by participating in project inspections, field visits, and construction oversight efforts.

  • Maintain a valid driver's license and comply with the Company's Driving Program requirements.

  • Adhere to all Company policies, procedures, and ethical standards, as well as all applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

  • Collaborate effectively with engineers, project teams, contractors, and other stakeholders to support successful project execution.

  • Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned.
