Job Description:

The successful Propulsion Technician will work satellite propulsion assembly & testing including production, work instructions, and non-conformance reporting. They will also support the propulsion engineering team for activities related to the propulsion system production and performance.

The successful candidate will be innovative, creative, and challenge the status quo. They will work well in teams while also having the ability to lead a small team and to work assignments autonomously.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and program requirements.
  • Perform propulsion system assembly, test, and quality control tasks utilizing work instructions and detailed test procedures.
  • Develop and maintain propulsion assembly documentation at the subassembly level: assembly reports, non-conformance reports, test procedures and setups, tooling, and manufacturing drawings.
  • Maintain test and inventory databases for all propulsion production related activities.
  • Troubleshoot and assist investigations for component anomalies and failures, root-cause analysis, and disposition.
  • Develop reference performance test plans and procedures, identify hardware needs, design of test set-ups.
  • Technical support for production and testing of satellite propulsion systems.
  • Work with the spacecraft team to support the validation of requirements, development of the test architecture, implementation of the production work instructions, and test verification of the propulsion subsystem for a spacecraft.
  • Establish strong working relationships within the spacecraft subsystem leads and with the system engineering team, integration and test team, and peers for the other spacecraft subsystems.
  • Generate verification and validation plans, and work with Integration and Test team to ensure the subsystem meets requirements.
  • Understand component interfaces.
  • Prepare and give presentations to peers, management and customers.
  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in electric propulsion assembly and testing.
  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering or related technical field.
  • Strong background in space propulsion assembly, operation, and/or testing, specifically with respect to executing work instructions and test procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team with other engineers
  • Flexibility/adaptability in a fast-paced & dynamic environment
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
