Job Title:Â Front of House Manager Status: Exempt/Salary
Under the direction of the General Manager, the Front of House (FOH) Manager is responsible for overseeing all guest-facing operations at Genki Diner, with an exceptional guest experience as the top priority. This role leads FOH staff, maintains service standards, and ensures smooth day-to-day operations while upholding the brand’s commitment to quality, hospitality, and the spirit of aloha in a fast-paced, modern diner environment.
General Duties:
- Oversee daily front-of-house operations including dining room service, host stand, and guest relationsÂ
- Lead, train, and supervise FOH team members to deliver consistent, high-quality serviceÂ
- Ensure a welcoming, clean, and organized environment aligned with Genki Diner’s brand standardsÂ
- Manage guest feedback and resolve concerns promptly and professionallyÂ
- Coordinate with BOH (Back of House) to ensure seamless service flowÂ
- Uphold company policies, procedures, and service standards

Essential Duties:
- Supervise service during operating hours to ensure efficiency and guest satisfactionÂ
- Monitor staffing levels and adjust schedules based on business needsÂ
- Train and mentor staff on service techniques, menu knowledge, and hospitality standardsÂ
- Handle guest complaints and escalations with professionalism and urgencyÂ
- Conduct daily pre-shift meetings to communicate goals, specials, and service expectationsÂ
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulationsÂ
- Track and report on key performance metrics (labor, sales, guest satisfaction)Â
- Assist in hiring, onboarding, and performance evaluations of FOH staffÂ
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining areas, restrooms, and service stationsÂ
- Support promotional activities and special events

- Strong leadership and team management skillsÂ
- Excellent customer service and conflict resolution abilitiesÂ
- Knowledge of restaurant operations, service flow, and hospitality standardsÂ
- Familiarity with POS systems and restaurant management softwareÂ

- Indoor work environment with moderate noise levels

Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8+ hours)Â
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25–40 pounds (e.g., supplies, trays)Â

Requirements:
- Minimum 2–3 years of restaurant management or supervisory experience (FOH preferred)Â
- High school diploma or equivalent required; hospitality or business degree preferredÂ
- Strong understanding of customer service excellence in a dining environmentÂ
- Food Safety Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)Â
- Alcohol service certification (if applicable per Hawaii regulations)Â
- Ability to lead diverse teams and foster a positive work cultureÂ
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
