Position Summary
The Cargo Agent is responsible for ensuring the safe handling, movement, loading, unloading, and processing of cargo within the airport cargo warehouse operation. This position plays an important role in maintaining security standards, proper shipment routing, accurate freight handling, and compliance with all airline, TSA, USPS, and company operational requirements.

Cargo Agent β Essential Duties & Responsibilities
β’ Ensure the safety and security of all cargo tendered for transportation and distribution
Β β’ Follow all government and operational regulations
Β β’ Install straps, braces, and padding to loads to prevent shifting or damage during shipment
Β β’ Assemble containers and crates used to transport items such as machines or vehicles
Β β’ Direct or participate in cargo loading to ensure completeness of load and even distribution of weight
Β β’ Direct delivery trucks to shipping doors or designated marshaling areas and help load and unload goods safely
Β β’ Route received goods to first available flight or to appropriate storage areas or departments using forklifts, hand trucks, or other equipment
Β β’ Retrieve stored items and trace lost shipments as necessary
Β β’ Attach address labels, identification codes, and shipping instructions to containers
Β β’ Inspect and count items received and check them against invoices or other documents, recording shortages and rejecting damaged goods
Β β’ Assist with general warehouse operations and cargo movement as assigned

Qualifications
β’ At least 18 years of age or older
Β β’ A valid government issued workerβs permit
Β β’ Valid Driverβs License preferred
Β β’ Ability to pass a 10-year background check and pre-employment drug screen
Β β’ Ability to obtain a SIDA Badge and USPS Certification
Β β’ High school diploma or GED required
Β β’ Authorized to work in the U.S. β We Use eVerify
Β β’ Ability to work flexible shifts including early mornings, weekends, and holidays
Β β’ Ability to work in a fast-paced cargo warehouse environment

Physical Requirements & Work Environment
β’ Able to stand, walk, bend, and crouch for prolonged periods
Β β’ Able to lift approximately 25β75 lbs.
Β β’ Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, and cargo movement required
Β β’ Warehouse environment located within an active airport cargo operation
Β β’ Exposure to changing weather conditions, aircraft noise, and time-sensitive operational demands
