SUMMARY:

As a General Manager Production, you will be at the helm of the total operation of your assigned business area. This role is pivotal in ensuring the efficient and safe manufacturing of quality products, adhering to company policies and procedures. Your leadership will empower supervisors with the necessary information, materials, and training to produce the highest quality products possible.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Management

  • Responsible for the total operation of the assigned business area.
  • Ensure efficient and safe manufacturing processes.
  • Oversee the daily operations and maintain the entire operation of the assigned area.

Quality and Safety

  • Ensure compliance with USDA, Federal, and State Regulations.
  • Monitor and promote new ideas to enhance quality and safety.
  • Encourage the development of innovative ideas from Team Members.

Supervisory Support

  • Provide supervisors with information, materials, and training.
  • Monitor records for attendance, payroll, production, safety, and ergonomics.
  • Analyze non-routine problems and offer recommendations for solutions to the Plant Manager.

Team Member Relations

  • Foster positive Team Member relations, addressing turnover and absenteeism.
  • Implement discipline and manage payroll and staffing.
  • Maintain line speeds and ensure production yields meet quality standards.

Continuous Improvement

  • Promote Total Quality Management (TQM) principles.
  • Encourage continuous improvement and development within the team.


QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Education beyond high school including special training, vocational school, and/or college courses, or equivalent experience. 
Experience: 3 plus years general knowledge of production techniques, procedures, product yields and quality, and USDA and OSHA regulations. Processing management experience preferred. 
Computer Skills: Basic computer skills. 
Communication Skills: Strong communication skills. 
Travel: As required. 
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position is responsible for supervising a group of personnel who perform somewhat identical and related tasks or activities.
