Job Title: Manufacturing Team Leader

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

 

Position Summary:

Operate and maintain equipment in a manufacturing environment. Responsible for meeting plant targets for safety, quality, efficiency and cost reduction.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Technical:

1. Work in a manufacturing environment emphasizing teamwork, safety, training and discipline.

2. Follow standardized work procedures and work sequence for each process.

3. Work with team to improve standardized processes/methods, identify waste, methodically eliminate waste and standardize the new process/methods.

4. Directly responsible for performance of assigned work area.

5. Work in a team environment on safety, quality, productivity and cost improvement projects.

6. Complete all working documentation, records and reports as requested.

7. Understand all company policies and procedures.

8. Be proactive and reactive to resolve abnormalities in the process.

9. Use key performance indicators as a method of continuous improvement.

10. Lead and direct Team Member activity.

11. Expected to be completely versed in his/her area and should be able to adequately instruct anyone to perform these duties.

12. Use Kaizen in work areas for the opportunity to make the area or line efficient.

 

Interpersonal:

1. Focus on employee relations centered on trust and teamwork.

2. Demonstrate a personality that works in cooperation with other team members toward building a sense of company teamwork.

3. Work on continually improving skills as outlined during performance review.

4. Attend all required training as outlined on training matrix.

 

Qualifications:

1. Ability to communicate and work well with others in a group environment.

2. Must have excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills in English.

3. Basic math skills are required.

 

Education and/or Experience:

Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.

One to two years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

High school diploma or G.E.D. required.

.

Physical Demands:

The employee needs to be capable of working on their feet for long periods of time and occasionally will be required to lift up to 30 pounds.

 

Work Environment:

This position is a typical manufacturing environment with a high noise level. Personal protective equipment will be required.

 

Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
