Engineering Strategy Product Owner 

The Software Engineering team delivers next-generation software application enhancements and new products for a changing world. What you’ll achieve


As an Engineering Strategy Product Owner, you will be the critical connector between engineering leadership, strategic execution, and business priorities. In this role, you will translate vision into actionable plans and craft narratives that resonate with business leaders, ensuring engineering investments deliver measurable outcomes. 
 

You will thrive at the intersection of strategy, agile delivery, and organizational transformation, embedding modern product ownership practices into engineering operations. Your work will enable clarity, alignment, and speed across a complex portfolio, while shaping how engineering communicates its value in business language—driving influence and securing the right outcomes for both technology and the enterprise. 

You will:

  • Own the Strategic Backlog: Translate ISG Storage strategy into a prioritized portfolio of initiatives and OKRs that deliver measurable business impact. 

  • Modernize Engineering Operations: Leverage data from Jira, Jira Align, code repositories, and other sources to create a real-time, insight-driven operating model that accelerates decision-making and execution. 

  • Act as a Strategic Thought Partner: Collaborate with senior executives and cross-functional leaders to shape priorities, influence decisions, and ensure alignment between engineering investments and enterprise objectives. 

  • Drive Transparency and Storytelling: Maintain clear narratives, dashboards, and reporting that connect engineering outcomes to business value—speaking the language of strategy and impact. 

  • Champion Modern Management Systems: Replace legacy operations with agile, data-driven practices that combine business model thinking, advanced analytics, and automation to scale effectively. 

  • Embed AI at the Core: Partner with development teams to integrate machine learning and generative AI into software delivery workflows — optimizing resource planning and portfolio analytics.

Essential Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in product ownership, business strategy, or modern operations within technology-driven organizations.  

  • Proven ability to simplify complexity and deliver outcomes in fast-paced, highly matrixed environments.  

  • Exceptional communication and influence skills, including data storytelling and executive-level engagement.  

  • Deep expertise in Agile at scale (Scrum, SDLC, portfolio management) with hands-on experience operating modern Agile approaches across large engineering organizations.  

  • Fluency with modern tools and AI—comfortable leveraging Jira, Jira Align, code repository analytics, and generative AI to enhance productivity, insight generation, and decision-making. 

Compensation

Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this position is $230,000k - $328,000k.
