Job Description
JOB DETAILS
Pay Rate: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
Work Schedule: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday
Duties and Responsibilities
- Diagnose root cause of problem and correct issue with mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical components in plant machinery and equipment
- Perform routine, predictive and preventive maintenance on all machinery. Document activity as requiredÂ
- Maintain and repair motorized equipmentÂ
- Operate manlifts and forklifts; transport heavy parts and equipment and perform inspections on trucks. Coordinates PM service with vendorÂ
- Identify needed parts to repair equipment and facilityÂ
- Complete required paperwork to order new parts and to track existing partsÂ
- Coordinate maintenance of parts inventory with production and purchasing personnelÂ
- Fabricate metal parts (e.g. brackets); perform welding as required, orders materials and supplies as neededÂ
- Perform basic to moderately complex electrical repairs and installationsÂ
- Coordinate service calls and repairsÂ
- Complete daily forklift safety/damage inspection checksÂ
- Perform grounds/facilities repairs as neededÂ
- Perform other related duties and assignments as requiredÂ
- Maintain supplies at workstation; Keep tools organized, batteries chargedÂ
- Train other Maintenance AssociatesÂ
- Train other plant associates on equipment and proceduresÂ
- Respond to on-call emergencies as neededÂ
- Attend weekly shift meetings and/or monthly plant meetings, if requiredÂ
- Actively participate in all plant safety programs, tasks as assignedÂ
- Position requires walking, standing, heavy lifting, bending, and twistingÂ
- Must have correctable hearing and eyesightÂ
- Must be able to pass colorblindness test and be able to keep colors separateÂ
- Ability to learn basic electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills with on-the-job trainingÂ
- Ability to work well with othersÂ
- Ability to work with some limited supervision to perform jobÂ
- Must be skilled in working with hand and electrical toolsÂ
- Working ConditionsÂ
- Manufacturing plant environment with exposure to equipment noise, temperature extremes, and dustÂ
- Work involves exposure to high voltage equipment and rapidly moving machineryÂ
- Safety
- Safe work performance is required from each associate at all timesÂ
- Perform all duties and responsibilities safely in accordance with applicable Health and Safety ManualsÂ
- Required to wear or use personal protective equipment as applicable and to immediately report unsafe working conditionsÂ
- Comply with all legislative requirements as outlined by Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulationsÂ
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required Â
- Amp probe, basic hand tools, forklift, bobcat, hand power tools, welder, grinder, air hammer, torch, plasma cutter, soldering iron, volt meter, utility knifeÂ
- Hearing protection, safety glasses, N95v Dust Mask, and steel toed shoes requiredÂ
- Equipment/Tools UsedÂ

Qualifications
- High school graduate/GED/Technical School or equivalent experienceÂ
- Minimum of two years of maintenance experience, at least one year of which must have been in mechanical and electrical maintenanceÂ
- Skills & CompetenciesÂ
- Knowledge of basic preventive maintenance scheduling and implementation requiredÂ
- Knowledge of basic carpentry and toolingÂ
- Must have excellent mechanical aptitude. Basic computer skills also requiredÂ

This is a position with the potential overtime. The shifts are 8 hours, 10 hours, and 12 hours long depending on work orders for the day and season of the year.
