Accounts Payable Supervisor

Location: Horsham, PA — Onsite
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM

Position Overview

The Accounts Payable Supervisor will oversee the accounts payable team and processes, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, and reconciliations. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of accounting principles.

Key Duties

The responsibilities of this position include:

  • Supervise and manage the accounts payable team, providing guidance and support.
  • Review and approve extraordinary invoices for accuracy, coding, and proper authorization.
  • Coordinate and execute payment processes based on the established payment schedule.
  • Audit vendor statements and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Maintain and update vendor records, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Ensure timely month-end closing activities related to accounts payable.
  • Monitor and analyze accounts payable processes to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare and present accounts payable reports to management.
  • Assist with the implementation of process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and support company operations.
  • Provide support for internal and external audits as needed.
  • Mentor and train accounts payable staff on best practices and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounts payable or a similar role, with supervisory experience.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable processes, accounting principles, and internal controls.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of accounts payable processes and procedures.
  • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., SAP, Turn14 Apps).
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve complex issues.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines effectively.
