We are currently seeking a talented individual to become part of our EMS team. An individual could be successful if they possess the following.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The EMS team is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of guests, team members and company assets, while providing a variety of security functions, including but not limited to, check IDs, provide escorts, control access to restricted areas, and respond to non-medical security incidents, will respond to all medical calls for both external and internal guests. Delivers excellent guest service in accordance with Oaklawn's Core Values and Standards of Behavior. The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:

  • Monitor activity in the gaming areas
  • Offer escorts and assist guests with general questions and needs
  • Act as an ambassador for OJC, providing the highest standard in guest service as well as guest and team member safety
  • Attends emergency and non-emergency medical requests as they arise, renders on-site assistance to patients as required
  • Performs or assists in the initial assessment and management of illness or injury to emergency patients in accordance with specified protocol and procedure
  • Prepares or assists in the preparation of patients for transport, communicates with medical personnel to ensure proper transmission of all necessary information.
  • Inspects emergency medical equipment to ensure serviceability and compliance with safety and infection control regulations and standards
  • Performs daily duties and other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
  • Promptly and professionally respond to all calls and administer appropriate emergency medical care within scope of EMT training and certification.
  • Obtain full medical history when possible in order to assess proper regimen of care.
  • Accurately and timely complete full reports of each incident of care provided and send to appropriate internal personnel.
  • Accurately maintain guest and team member medical records in accordance with HIPAA and other privacy standards.
  • Check for and report safety hazards.
  • Have a complete knowledge of all OJC events and promotional activities.
  • Keep work area in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Ensure the safety and security of all guests and team members.
  • Comply with all policies, procedures and regulations established by OJC, Arkansas, and department
  • Maintains strict confidentiality
  • Maintains an attitude & philosophy consistent with the company Core Values and Standards of Behavior with internal & external guests
  • Regular punctual attendance
  • Ability to work required overtime
  • Knowledge of and skill in the application of basic on-site emergency medical protocol and procedures
  • Superior guest service and interpersonal skills

  • Knowledge of Gaming Commission policies, procedures and guidelines
  • Knowledge of gaming, federal and state reporting requirements
  • Strong computer skills
  • Must have a professional attitude and appearance.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS  

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • High School diploma or GED
  • Must have current Arkansas CPR and EMT licensing and certificates
  • At least 1-year EMS experience preferred
  • 1+ year security or similar experience preferred
  • Guest service experience is a must
  • Must have the ability to interact with guests, staff and colleagues and resolve problems and conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
  • Ability to maintain a calm, professional and friendly demeanor in all situations.
  • Ability to handle and defuse hostile, intoxicated or upset individuals professionally and calmly.
  • Ability to use a hand-held radio for communications.
  • Flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, weekends, and overtime as business needs dictate.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Employee must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations.
