Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Surgical Tech, you will help prepare the operating room and surgical team so they can successfully perform a variety of surgical procedures for patients.Every day you will set up surgical equipment and instruments, assist the surgical team, and ensure a sterile environment. You will be expected to adapt quickly, collaborate effectively within the OR team, and contribute directly to the patient's healing process.To be successful in this role, you must possess adaptability, a strong team-player mindset, and enthusiasm for supporting complex surgical procedures.

 

  • Checks case cart and gathers instrument and supply needs prior to surgical procedure.
  • Organizes instruments and supplies on the sterile backfield according to standard set-up.
  • Arranges instruments on the mayo table and draping materials in the order of use
  • Prepares and applies dressings independently in a timely manner.
  • Assist or independently apply draping materials according to type of surgical procedure.
  • Obtains or verifies physicians’ preferences for procedures/therapies
  • Assists in disinfecting the operating room pre and post operatively.

We are offering a sign on bonus up to $5,000 depending on shift to hires who meet the eligibility requirements.

Job Requirements

Required

  • Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing with attendance of the core curriculum for perioperative nursing or equivalent training, upon hire or
  • graduate of an approved surgical technology program (one or two year program), upon hire or
  • on-the-job trained within the St. Vincent Systems
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, within 30 Days
