We are currently seeking a talented individual to become a Retail Manager.  An individual could be successful if they possess the following.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes, and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs.
  • Responsible for overseeing two (2) outlets year-round and an additional third (3rd) outlet during racing season. Maintain operations by initiating, coordinating and enforcing program, operational and personnel policies and procedures
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Maintain inventory by implementing purchasing plans and staying in contact with vendors and shippers
  • Responsible for buying decisions when it comes to what should be in each outlet
  • Develop a schedule of holiday activities and promotions throughout the year strategically designed to bring in more revenue
  • Provide training to improve the knowledge base of the staff and utilize cross-training methods to maintain productivity when employees are absent
  • Work with vendors and manufacturers to bring in effective marketing displays for the sales floor and store windows
  • Manage all controllable costs to keep operations profitable
  • Manage stock levels and make key decisions about stock control
  • Analyze sales figures and forecast future sales
  • Analyze and interpret trends to facilitate planning
  • Deal with staffing issues such as interviewing potential staff, conducting appraisals and performance reviews, as well as providing or organizing training and development
  • Ensure standards for quality, customer service and health and safety are met
  • Respond to customer complaints and comments
  • Organize special promotions, displays and events
  • Update colleagues on business performance, new initiatives and other pertinent issues
  • Tour the sales floor regularly, talking to colleagues and customers to identify or resolve urgent issues
  • Maintain awareness of market trends in the retail industry, understanding forthcoming customer initiatives and monitoring what local competitors are doing
  • Delivers excellent customer service and demonstrates a high degree of professionalism.
  • Ensures team provides high level of quality service standards. 
  • Compliant with all regulatory requirements within area of responsibility.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS  

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Bachelor’s Degree in business and / or fashion with two years retail experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years leadership experience in the retail and/or corporate retail industry.
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule and the hours necessary to open and/or close the store, including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to be on your feet throughout the day while overseeing multiple retail outlets.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel, Work, and Outlook).
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Must be able to handle several projects and tasks at the same time.
  • Must have the ability to interact with guests, staff and colleagues and resolve problems and conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES                                              

This job has supervisory responsibilities.

  • Oversee Multi-Outlet Retail team
  • Responsible for staff development and training programs.
  • Responsible for rewards and recognition program to maximize employee engagement.
  • Evaluates team members within department and delivers constructive feedback to employees in regards to performance.
  • Determines recommendation for staffing (including interviewing and hiring) and scheduling (planning, assigning and directing work) to meet business needs.
  • Determines work procedures and expedites workflow.
  • Responsible for employee performance (disciplining, coaching, counseling).

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in in English may also be required.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Employee must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations.
