The Composite Technician is responsible for performing adhesive and structural bonding repairs on aircraft components in accordance with approved engineering data, manufacturer specifications, and FAA regulations. This role prepares, bonds, cures, and inspects composite, metallic, and nacelle structures to ensure the highest levels of quality, structural integrity, and airworthiness. The Bonding Technician maintains accurate repair documentation, follows strict safety and quality standards, and contributes to the efficient delivery of reliable maintenance and repair services. Through technical expertise, precision craftsmanship, and a commitment to continuous improvement, this position supports the organization's mission of providing industry-leading aerospace repair solutions while ensuring compliance with all regulatory and customer requirements.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Perform adhesive bonding and structural bonding repairs on aircraft components, including nacelle, composite, and metallic structures.
  • Prepare surfaces for bonding through cleaning, sanding, chemical treatment, and masking in accordance with repair specifications.
  • Mix and apply approved adhesives, sealants, and bonding agents following manufacturer instructions.
  • Install and maintain bonding fixtures, vacuum bagging systems, and heat blankets for curing processes.
  • Monitor and control curing cycles, temperature, and pressure requirements during bonding operations.
  • Inspect bonded assemblies for proper adhesion, alignment, and workmanship.
  • Interpret and follow repair manuals, engineering drawings, and technical work instructions.
  • Ensure compliance with FAA regulations, company procedures, and quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate work records, job cards, and repair documentation.
  • Adhere to safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and respirators when working with adhesives and chemicals.

Requirements:

  • High school Diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge on how to read and interpret OEM/ engineering drawings, technical orders, and OEM repair data
  • Complete set of hand tools for general maintenance work
  • Basic Quantum knowledge
  • Mechanical and Mathematical Aptitude
