We are currently seeking a talented individual to become a Mechanic. An individual could be successful if they possess the following.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Mechanic performs mechanical work on vehicles and equipment at the highest skill level.
- Analyze test results, machine error messages, and information obtained from operators in order to diagnose equipment problems.
- Assist with documentation of down time, costs to repair, and other data information as needed.
- Observe and test the operation of machinery and equipment in order to diagnose malfunctions, using voltmeters and other testing devices.
- Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, and perform other maintenance actions, following checklists.
- Assemble, install and/or repair wiring, electrical and electrical components, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery, and equipment
- Disassemble machinery and equipment to remove parts and make repairs
- Safety Awareness – Being aware of conditions that affect employee safety. May be required to take additional safety courses related to job tasks.
- Quality Orientation – Accomplishing tasks by considering all areas involved, no matter how small; showing concern for all aspects of the job; accurately checking processes and tasks; being watchful over a period of time.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS Â

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. - High school diploma or GED; VOTECH
- Certificate of completion of Maintenance Mechanic program
- 1-3 years of production maintenance mechanic experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.Â
- Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade.
- Ability to lead others in troubleshooting and emergency repairs.
- Ability to develop and implement planned preventive maintenance programs for equipment.
- Ability to read, understand, and follows safety procedures.

- Employee must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and have acceptable driving history as determined by Oaklawn Jockey Club.
