Cobalt Aero Services, an First Class Air brand specializes in maintaining, repairing, and overhauling nacelle components, thrust (fan) reversers, and other aircraft structural components for the commercial and military sectors.


Essential Job Functions:

  • NDT Testing equipment and hardware
  • Inspect materials/components, and interpret technical data to make accept or reject decisions based on acceptance criteria
  • Develop new or adapting existing NDT methods and procedures to solve problems
  • Properly documenting all testing procedures, processes, methods, and results. 
  • Use industry standard eddy current instruments (impedance-plane display), fluorescent liquid penetrant methods, magnetic particle equipment and borescopes to examine structures and materials, perform conductivity checks, etc.
  • Conduct in-house formal classroom training and supervise on-the-job training
  • Author custom written specific exams for required testing of eligible NDT personnel 
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Airframe and Powerplant Certification or Repairman’s Certification
  • Ability to travel to different locations as needed
  • Certified or qualified to be certified to Level 3 in any or all of the following methods:
  • Eddy Current, Liquid Penetrant, Magnetic Particle
  • 3+ years working in an inspection role in the aviation industry
  • Excellent communication, collaboration and delegation skills.
  • Satisfactory vision exam per regulatory requirements
  • Medical clearance to be subjected to high magnetic fields (no pacemaker, etc.)
  • Ability to speak and understand the English language
