YOUR NEW ROLE: The Dredge Operator/Leverman’s primary duties are to perform underwater excavation (dredging) on a variety of dredges. These dredges include, but are not limited to cable driven, conventional, and self-propelled machines which range in size from 12ā€ to 20ā€ discharge. Dredge configuration will vary from project to project depending on our client’s needs, size and duration of project, type of material being excavated, and equipment availability.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ā· Operating and maintaining the hydraulic dredge

Ā· Completion of Daily Dredge and Maintenance Log

Ā· MUST be motivated and able to work independently

Ā· Be able to communicate well with the support personnel

Ā· Assist in Mobilizations/Demobilizations as needed

Ā· Duties will include daily, weekly and monthly preventive maintenance and cleaning equipment

Ā· Position will include some miscellaneous labor

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

Ā· Have 3 years+ of Dredge Leverman/Operator experience (cable driven, self-propelled and/or conventional machines of 12ā€ and greater size.

Ā· Ability to fulfill schedule requirements and deadlines.

Ā· Have knowledge on reading and interpreting engineering design drawings, CAD drawings, and hydrographic drawings/models.

Ā· Familiarity with HyPack/DredgePack a plus.

Ā· The position requires 12-hour workdays 7 days a week.

Ā· Current OSHA 10 and First Aid/CPR certifications.

Ā· Valid TWIC card.

Ā· Knowledge of small motor vessel operations.

Ā· Knowledge of dewatering methods (mechanical, hydraulic, etc.). Ā·

Ā· Must possess a valid driver’s license and the ability to maintain a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record. Ā·

Ā· Must be able to work outside for an entire shift in all weather conditions (hot, humid, cold, wet) required.

Ā· Must be authorized to work in the US.

Ā· Drug screening and background check required.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ā· The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable workplace accommodation.

Ā· Physical/Sensory Functions: Regularly will use sit, use hands, talk/hear; Frequently will reach with hands; Occasionally will stand, walk, climb, or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, taste/smell.

Ā· Lift and/or Move Functions: Regularly will lift up to 10 pounds; Frequently will lift up to 25 pounds; Occasionally will lift up to 50 pounds. Walking, stepping, climbing, or otherwise moving from one location on the job site to another, which may be of varying heights and access parameters.

Ā· The individual must also be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to work or visit within areas where it is required. This includes hard hat, safety glasses, life vest, respirators, ear plugs, steel toed shoes, personal flotation devices (PFD’s), or other protective equipment as required by the work performed and location the work is being done.
