Position Summary:

Bordelon Marine is seeking a skilled and motivated USCG Licensed Engineer to join our offshore crew. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in diesel-electric propulsion systems, dynamic positioning (DP) vessels, and offshore operations. This role is critical to maintaining vessel safety, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate, maintain, and repair all onboard mechanical, electrical, and propulsion systems

  • Ensure compliance with USCG regulations, company policies, and industry standards

  • Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on all machinery and equipment

  • Maintain detailed records of repairs, maintenance, and inventory

  • Respond promptly and effectively to equipment malfunctions and emergencies

  • Supervise and support unlicensed engine room personnel

  • Communicate clearly with the bridge and shoreside management regarding engineering issues

  • Participate in safety meetings, drills, and company training programs

Qualifications:

  • Valid USCG Engineer License (DDE Unlimited, 3rd Assistant Engineer, or higher preferred) with OICEW

  • Valid TWIC, MMC, STCW, and Medical Certificate

  • Strong knowledge of diesel-electric propulsion and DP systems

  • Experience working on offshore supply or specialty vessels

  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work an even-time (28/28 or 21/21) rotational schedule

  • Strong communication and team leadership skills
