Job Summary

Primarily responsible for statutory compliance of assigned entities across various legal jurisdictions. Preparation of statutory financial statement, with supporting working papers and schedules. Preparation of indirect tax and other informational returns. Submission of digital data to government portals as required. Coordinate and support external audit of statutory financial statements including attending to all audit requests for information. Support and collaborate with tax group and advisors in preparation of tax returns and tax provisions. Such a role may be performed at level I or level II depending on experience, level of autonomy and expectation that those at level II will assist/guide those at level I. Level II will also be given more challenging jurisdictions and responsibility to oversee projects periodically.

Job Description

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the audit file preparation ensuring accounting and reporting for assigned/designated legal entities are completed in compliance with local GAAP/IFRS for external and statutory reporting purposes.
  • Coordinate with and support external auditors during the audit of statutory accounts.
  • Prepare information for the tax department or advisors to support annual tax filings and quarterly provisions to include GAAP to Stat reconciliations (walks).
  • Prepare or assist with certain local tax filings, reconciliations or informational returns e.g. VAT. Support corporate and indirect tax audits, assessments and controversies.
  • Perform intercompany allocations in support of intercompany billings.
  • Perform a monthly review of management accounting entries to ensure compliance with legal entity tax planning, record entries into local (secondary) ledger as required.
  • Perform online balance sheet reconciliations on a quarterly basis, as assigned.
  • Support Subsidiary Governance through preparation of subsidiary board of director meeting materials.
  • Prepare or assist with submission of statistical returns, digital data or filing documents as required by local government authorities. 
  • Ad-hoc miscellaneous duties as assigned to ensure adequate support to designated shared service support operations.

Education:

  • Minimum Required: Some College.
  • Preferred Level: Bachelor’s Degree plus Professional Accounting Designation.

Experience:

  • Minimum Required: 4 years Accounting, Financial Reporting, Tax Compliance.
  • Preferred Level: Preparation of Financial Statements

Skills:

  • Minimum Required: Microsoft Office, Bookkeeping knowledge.
  • Preferred Level: Statutory Financials preparation, strong Excel skills, Oracle Cloud or similar ERP, Workiva Multi-Entity reporting or similar Financial reporting software.

Pre-Requisite/ Qualification:

  • Must successfully complete pre-employment drug screen.
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment background check.
