Electrical Field Technician – Downhole & Surface Systems

Salamander is seeking an experienced Electrical Field Technician to support installation, commissioning, and servicing of downhole heater systems and associated surface electrical equipment. This is a hands-on field role suited for professionals with oilfield electrical experience who want broader technical exposure and direct influence on field execution.

This position requires regular field presence and frequent travel to domestic and international job sites. Total travel may be up to but not limited to 60%, depending on project demands, and may vary over time.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee or support medium-voltage splicing and terminations

  • Troubleshoot recurring electrical issues and implement practical field solutions

  • Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled testing

  • Provide on-site technical guidance to customers and field crews

  • Contribute to improving field procedures and equipment reliability

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3–7 years of oil & gas electrical field experience

  • Experience with control panels, switchgear, PLC and/or SCR systems

  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (approximately 30–60%, project dependent)

  • Medium-voltage splicing and termination exposure preferred

  • Background in service company, operator, downstream, onshore or offshore environments

  • Strong troubleshooting mindset and mechanical aptitude
