About the Role
Perella Weinberg Partners is seeking a high performing US and Global Payroll Specialist who thrives on precision, ownership, and complexity. This is your opportunity to take full ownership of the complete payroll lifecycle across multiple jurisdictions while working in a dynamic, fast-paced financial services environment. This position sits within our Corporate Finance Team in Houston and reports directly to the Global Payroll Manager. Responsibilities
As our Payroll Specialist, you'll have complete ownership of critical payroll operations across the USA, Canada, and Europe.
Core Payroll Responsibilities
- Own the full payroll cycle for USA and Canada semi-monthly payrolls, in addition to monthly UK, France and Germany payrolls
- Process off-cycle payrolls and on-demand payments with precision
- Ensure 100% compliance with federal, state, and local wage & hour laws across all jurisdictions
- Execute payroll for new hires, terminations, and compensation changes
- Audit and analyze retro-pay calculations, timesheets, and tax elections for accuracy and regulatory compliance
- Process special shadow payrolls for mobility employees to ensure compliance with local jurisdictions
- Execute beginning-to-end processing of global Restricted Stock Unit vesting events across multiple jurisdictions
Data Integrity & Analysis
- Conduct thorough payroll reconciliations by cross-referencing HRIS systems and external reports
- Perform in-depth analysis to identify and resolve inquiries in Benefits, HCM, and Payroll data
- Generate ad hoc reports and conduct data analysis to support business decisions and inquiries
Strategic Collaboration
- Interface daily with the PWP Compensation, Equity, Benefits, Human Resources, and HRIS departments.
- Participate in payroll testing for Workday releases, configurations, and system enhancements
- Perform payroll documentation for 401K, SOX, and financial statement audits
- Create and distribute payroll funding requirements for treasury operations
- Design and implement process improvements to streamline payroll operations
Systems & Compliance Management
- Manage all pay period schedules in Workday (semi-monthly and monthly payroll with weekly Overtime time tracking)
- Stay current on evolving payroll regulations and implement necessary changes
Requirements
Required Experience & Skills
- Workday Payroll module experience is mandatory
- 5+ years of full cycle payroll execution responsibility
- Global payroll experience is preferred
- Strong understanding of federal and state wage & hour laws and regulations
- Strong grasp of tax concepts including taxable wages, compensation, benefits
- Mandatory multi-tasking skillset for a fast-paced environment
- Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
