The Role

The Design Technician II is an intermediate-level role responsible for creating and managing detailed digital design models, drawings, and documentation using CAD and BIM software. This role supports project teams by producing accurate and high-quality design documents and assisting with design coordination. The CAD/BIM Designer II works more independently, applying technical expertise in CAD/BIM to ensure that project requirements and standards are met.

Responsibilities

Develop 2D and 3D CAD/BIM models and drawings that meet project specifications, incorporating detailed layouts, sections, and elevations.
Prepare and organize construction documents, including plans, elevations, sections, and detailed views, ensuring accuracy and quality.
Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other project stakeholders to understand design requirements and implement changes in drawings as needed.
Conduct quality control reviews of drawings and models to ensure compliance with project standards, making revisions as necessary.
Maintain and update project files, ensuring that digital models, drawings, and related documentation are organized and accessible to the project team.
Assist with design coordination by integrating models from various disciplines (e.g., structural, mechanical, electrical) into a cohesive project model.
Follow and enforce CAD/BIM standards and protocols, ensuring consistency across all project deliverables.
Troubleshoot and resolve software or modeling issues, providing technical support to junior designers as needed.

Qualifications

Required

Associate’s degree or certification in CAD, BIM, Architecture, Engineering, or related field.
2-4 years of experience in CAD/BIM design, preferably in a multi-disciplinary environment.
Civil 3D Experience

Preferred

Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit, with experience in multi-disciplinary coordination.
