This position is responsible for specific technical design aspects of an assigned major project, including investigation, evaluation, and recommendation of design solutions that best meet the client’s needs. Provides professional architectural consultation in the planning, design, and coordination of large complex projects. Independently applies advanced architectural concepts and designs. Carries out complex or novel assignments requiring the development of new or improved techniques and procedures. May provide technical guidance to less experienced architects.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists with design presentations and project design development with less direct oversight. Responsible for following firm-wide standards and assisting other staff. Observes and repeats design process with less direct oversight. Assists project design development, with greater independent responsibilities. Provides support to ensure consistent and high-quality designs firm wide. Continues to assist with plans/drawings and expand into more intricate levels of detail. Collaborates with the senior architectural team and take more initiative to apply gained experience. Continues contributing to development of documents, files, BIM, models with lessened direct oversight. Assists further in documenting and recording the communication with team members, consultants, and contractors. Expands and learns industry standards, trends, technologies, and best practices through repeated documentation. Extends studies on codes to explore alternative design solutions or interpretations. Initiates coordination and communication between design team and seek confirmation of appropriate documentation. Illustrates BIM progression and continual growth. Expands on all observed components from Associate I and shares with others. (The who, what, when, where and how.) Takes prior designs/projects and apply them to future ideas. Reviews projects for completeness and accuracy. Assists quality control process to ensure work meets/exceeds standards. Assists with documentation and reporting issues and progress of construction during site visits. Continues to utilize technology and software tools for drafting and show progression. Takes advantage of professional development opportunities via continuing education and provides feedback. Seeks out expanded, qualified opportunities to complement current experiences. Performs other duties as assigned.
