Saber Power Services is a leading high-voltage Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) company specializing in transmission, substation, and power delivery infrastructure projects. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Transmission Intern to support our engineering and project teams in the planning, design, and execution of high-voltage transmission projects.

This internship provides hands-on exposure to utility-scale transmission systems, engineering design practices, project coordination, and field construction activities. The ideal candidate is pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field and has an interest in power systems and utility infrastructure.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist transmission engineers with the design and development of high-voltage transmission line projects ranging from 69kV to 500kV.
Support preparation of engineering drawings, calculations, specifications, and technical documentation.
Assist with transmission line routing studies, structure spotting, and conductor selection activities.
Perform basic engineering calculations using industry software and tools.
Support field investigations, site visits, and construction observations as needed.
Help maintain project schedules, deliverables, and document control.
Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to support project execution.
Review utility standards, NESC requirements, and client specifications.
Participate in safety meetings and maintain compliance with company safety policies and procedures.
Prepare reports, spreadsheets, and presentations for internal and client meetings.

Required

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
Strong interest in power delivery, transmission systems, or utility infrastructure.
Basic understanding of electrical power systems and engineering principles.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred

Exposure to AutoCAD, MicroStation, PLS-CADD, or similar engineering software.
Coursework related to power systems or transmission engineering.
Previous internship or field experience in utilities, construction, or EPC environments.
Willingness to travel occasionally to project sites.
