Job Summary:

Sysco is seeking a passionate, purpose-driven leader to serve as our Director, Community Impact. This role is central to delivering on Sysco’s Inclusion and Sustainability strategies, focused on strengthening our brand and driving business impact through meaningful colleague and community engagement.

You’ll lead programs that support our colleagues and communities – such as volunteering, disaster relief, and our center-led and local charitable giving programs – ensuring they create measurable value for the business and are aligned with Sysco’s purpose of connecting the world to share food and care for one another. While you’ll own execution of the U.S. strategy, you will have the opportunity to globalize the program by collaborating across the enterprise to drive consistency and scale.

This role is ideal for someone who shares Sysco’s core value of committed to inclusiveness and is passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of our colleagues and the communities we serve. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Shape and evolve Sysco’s global strategy for programs such as volunteering, disaster relief, and charitable giving programs.

  • Manage U.S. corporate donations and the Sysco Foundation by owning relationships with key national community partners and ensuring donations are connected to the Company’s business objectives.

  • Build and manage a clear, practical approach for how local Sysco sites invest community funds.

  • Coordinate Sysco’s Global Purpose Month, identifying ways to maximize colleague participation and engagement.

  • Manage the Sysco Disaster Relief Foundation and charitable response program.

  • Oversee colleague support initiatives, such as scholarship programs and education-related partnerships.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred

Experience:

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in community impact, CSR, ESG, inclusion, sustainability, philanthropy, or related fields

Technical Skills and Abilities:

  • Passion for people, purpose, and the opportunity to create positive impact.

  • Strong stakeholder management skills and comfort working both cross-functionally and across global markets.

  • Strategic thinker with an understanding of how social impact drives brand value.

  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills.

  • Excellent cross-cultural awareness.

  • Ability to inspire, influence, and lead across all levels of an organization.
