Who are we looking for?   

To drive continued growth of our Environment Market, GHD is seeking an Air Compliance Team Leader for Central Region – South in Denver Metropolitan area. This is a technical and business leadership role and will primarily support GHD’s Central Region while providing support for our National Air Quality Services, including business planning, delivery, and support.

The air compliance team leader will assist in the management and expansion of GHD's air compliance practice in the region. This position entails building and growing the air compliance Group in the Denver area while supporting the existing air compliance practice, aiding in business development, and enhancing client relationships. It also requires offering technical leadership, building new client relationships and nurturing key client connections. The role presents a valuable opportunity for seasoned professionals to assume senior leadership responsibilities and drive regional innovation.

In addition, the position will support growing external industry awareness and strengthening GHD internal business development and delivery tools, processes, and activities necessary to achieve our growth and strategic ambition. Building from strong market and business development knowledge, this role will lead and drive creative ways to help the US EHS and air compliance markets achieve and maintain market leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in supporting the growth of air compliance practice through technical leadership with focus in the Denver region
  • Collaborate with other GHD leaders in the broader Environment Market to grow the air quality and EHS business
  • Collaborate across all GHD’s end markets, embodying the One-GHD mindset to the advantage of our clients
  • Contribute to digital transformation and act as a change leader
  • Assist in developing business strategies and initiatives to expand air quality and EHS services to clients
  • Maintain a high profile externally and through membership/attendance in industry organizations, continually increasing contact base
  • Formulate and present proactive, strategic approaches to the proposal development process, which leverage the company's capabilities and value proposition.
  • Establish and develop strategic long-term relationships with current and new clients.

Technical Expertise & Project Delivery

  • Serve as a key leader delivering technical solutions in air quality compliance, permitting, and related projects for GHD’s existing and prospective clients
  • Develop efficient technical and regulatory strategies and solutions that address our clients' specific challenges and needs
  • Act as a technical subject matter expert (SME) in providing support to on-going air compliance projects.
  • Evaluating the impacts of regulatory requirements and advise clients

Client Engagement & Business Growth

  • Work GHD’s Environment Market Leaders in executing key components of the business plan and in particular Client forward strategies, actions, and activities
  • Implement strategies to develop EHS and air compliance services with GHD existing and prospective clients
  • Assist the Business Group Leader in securing, scheduling and managing workload for the Business Group
  • Promote client-centric approach within your team to enhance the client experience
  • Develop technical strategies to improve technical delivery for clients
  • Actively promote digital and advisory solutions to promote efficiency in air compliance business
  • Identifies short-term and long-term client needs or concerns to address; provides pertinent fact-based information and follow-up; recommends options, solutions; sets a forward course of action
  • Engage with GHD leaders and partners across the business to lead and develop client services.
  • Provide exceptional client delivery and experience
  • Develop and mentor staff
  • Work with project teams to improve job delivery skills 
  • Act as Project Director on appropriate projects 
  • Identify and attract strategic hires to develop the business 
  • Foster a collaborative team environment by leveraging the collective strength of the team through active management, seeking and giving feedback, having a clear understanding of roles and goals, as well as building trusted relationships across the network of Team Leaders and Line Managers
  • Coordinate with Line Managers as needed to manage staffing schedules for adequate coverage and optimal productivity
  • Work with the Line Managers to develop and coach staff within the Team as required
  • Work with the Business Group Leader to establish the resourcing, systems and processes to deliver services to meet client expectations and requirements
  • Conduct weekly team meetings for updates, issue resolution and team engagement
  • Ensure a successful employee experience by seeking feedback, ensuring staff feel heard and prioritizing employees professional development journey
  • Provide regular performance feedback, highlighting strengths and areas for improvement to keep employees motivated and engaged

Team Leadership & Development

Performance & Financial Leadership

  • Drive sustainable revenue growth and financial performance. 
  • Strong contribution to the development of and participation in revenue generation, across all areas of the air compliance business, particularly in the Denver market. 
  • Hiring and developing a technically strong air team in Denver area with a minimum of two air compliance professionals by the end of March 2026, and grow the backlog to support this team 
  • Drive financial performance with respect to contribution. Monitor and manage backlog, utilization, variances, and markups.
  • Support regional initiatives, including new processes, new system rollouts, etc.
  • Development of job/scope of work packages, budgets, and progress 
  • Manage and mitigate risks 
  • Ensure adherence to GHD Management Systems for Safety, Integrity, Quality, and Environment 
  • Responsible for implementing business plan, monitoring resourcing, systems and processes, identifying and managing risk and opportunities and ensuring timely delivery of services meeting client requirements and objectives

  • Blend client billable work with business development strategies
  • Lead and execute recruitment of strategic hires/new staff into GHD to match the expected market growth
  • Ensure timely, cost effective and quality delivery, as measured through client (internal and external) feedback
  • Responsible for growing backlog and maintaining pipeline as well as leading strategic pursuits
  • Undertake limited Project Director roles on key pursuits and projects

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Experience and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering/science
  • Minimum 20 years of prior experience in the air quality and EHS market 
  • Demonstrated combination of market facing and operations experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, ability to lead pursuits and projects and interact with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • A focus on driving cultural evolution and ways of working to enable a high-performing, agile, and entrepreneurial team.
  • Agile self-starter with a proactive, strategic, and creative approach
  • Solid organizational skills with the proven ability to manage multiple priorities at a time.

Salary Range: $100,320.00 - $167,200.00 based on experience and location.
