Accountant – Houston
Location: Houston, TX
Pay: $30–$35/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Accountant to support the financial operations of a growing transportation, warehousing, and 3PL logistics organization. The ideal candidate will have accounting experience within the trucking, transportation, warehousing, or 3PL industry and understand the unique financial processes associated with logistics operations.
This position will manage daily accounting activities, ensure accurate billing, reconcile transportation and warehouse transactions, and help maintain strong internal financial controls.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily accounting activities and financial transactions
- Process and review billing for transportation and logistics services
- Reconcile transportation, trucking, and warehouse transactions
- Manage freight billing and warehouse storage charges
- Allocate costs across transportation and warehouse divisions
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities
- Process payroll using QuickBooks
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
- Monitor transactions for accuracy and compliance with internal controls
- Assist with financial reporting and account reconciliations
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in billing and financial transactions
- Support other accounting and administrative functions as needed
Qualifications
- Previous accounting experience required
- Experience in trucking, transportation, warehousing, or 3PL logistics strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of freight billing and logistics-related revenue
- Experience with warehouse billing or storage charges preferred
- Experience with cost allocation across multiple business divisions
- QuickBooks experience required
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
