Accountant (Industrial Construction, hybrid)

BW Industrial Construction is seeking an experienced In‑House Accountant to maintain accurate financial records, oversee payroll processing, and support audits to ensure compliance with U.S. federal and state regulations and internal policies. This role is pivotal in maintaining financial integrity, optimizing workflows, and supporting the company’s strategic financial objectives. This position is full‑time (Hybrid, 2–3 days in office). Candidates must live within 20 miles of the Houston office. 

Key Responsibilities

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)
• Minimum of 5  years of accounting, in industrial construction, with a general contractor, in a project-based environment
• Experience with bank reconciliations, managing accounts payable/receivable and payroll, preferably with multi-state experience
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables), and accounting/ERP software
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills to meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills
• Must live within 20 miles of the Houston office.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without a sponsorship requirement.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening, consistent with company policy
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with multi-state operations or industrial construction projects, including familiarity with job costing and project-based accounting
• In-depth knowledge of GAAP, and financial reporting standards
• Experience supporting project managers by providing financial analysis for project bids, cost estimates, and resource allocation
• CPA license, a plus

Work Environment

• Work required hybrid schedule (2–3 days in Houston office) and additional hours as needed to support project deadlines.
• Collaborative environment working closely with Project Managers, Estimators, Finance Manager, HR Manager, and President.
• Fast‑paced setting requiring adaptability to project‑driven financial cycles and deadlines.

• Compensation: $30-$40/hour, depending on experience
