The Accounting Manager will assist the Controller in various day-to-day financial operations and have experience with project analysis and revenue recognition in accordance with GAAP.    Your Schedule:   Full Time Monday - Friday  8 a.m.-5 p.m. Work Model: hybrid Local Travel: N/A Our Total Rewards Package: At the Houston Area Women's Center, we are committed to supporting our employees with a comprehensive Total Rewards Package that promotes health, financial well-being, and work-life balance. QualificationsThe Requirements We are Seeking:   Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited educational institution. A minimum of three years of experience in financial reporting and general ledger. A minimum of three years of experience leading a team with direct reports. Intermediate proficiency with ERP and GL systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)     What you Deliver in this role:   You will supervise daily accounting operations, including the general ledger, accounts receivable, cash management, revenue recognition, and fixed assets. You will lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. You will review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting  documentation. You will prepare monthly financial statements, variance analyses, and management reports in accordance  with GAAP. You will analyze financial results and provide insights to support operational and strategic  decision-making. You will monitor cash flow and support treasury and liquidity management. You will serve as the backup approver for the Accounts Payable invoice approval process. You will oversee accounts receivable, monitor collections, and improve cash conversion You will review payroll and collaborate with Human Resources and Grants to ensure accurate payroll  processing and grant allocations. You will maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP, grant requirements, and  federal and state regulations. You will coordinate annual financial audit, Single Audit, and regulatory reporting, including audit  schedules, PBC requests, and support for IRS Forms 990 and 5500. You will supervise, coach, and develop accounting staff while fostering accountability and continuous  improvement. You will improve accounting processes, maintain financial systems, and support automation and system  enhancements. You will develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and process documentation. You will support the Controller and CFO with budgeting, financial analysis, special projects, and other  strategic initiatives.
