Accounting Specialist

Our company has an outstanding opportunity for a results-focused, highly driven and organized Accounting Specialist. The Accounting Specialist, under the leadership of the Office Manager, is responsible for performing a variety of accounting and administrative duties to support the dealership's financial operations. This position ensures the timely and accurate processing of accounting transactions while maintaining compliance with company policies, manufacturer requirements, and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Post and process accounting transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Reconcile assigned general ledger and bank accounts, researching and resolving discrepancies as needed.
  • Prepare and maintain account reconciliations and supporting documentation for management review.
  • Communicate professionally with accounting personnel, other departments, vendors, financial institutions, and other external parties to resolve accounting-related issues
  • Crosstrain and provide backup support for other accounting functions as needed.
  • Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Effective communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Excellent typing skills, proficient in 10-key by touch
  • Able to handle a high volume of transactions
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and Microsoft Outlook

 

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree required (GED)
  • 2 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Working Conditions:

  • May involve occasional overtime during peak periods such as month-end or year-end closings.
