About us

At Aurora Technical Services, LLC (Aurora) is a technically driven professional civil consulting firm providing design and management services primarily to clients across the Texas region for infrastructure, water, wastewater, storm, sanitary sewer, drainage, and roadway projects.

Position Overview

Aurora is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Administrative / Marketing Intern to support our administrative, marketing, proposal, and general office needs. This position is ideal for a college student who is organized, dependable, creative, and comfortable working with technology.

The Administrative / Marketing Intern will assist with proposal preparation, document formatting, marketing materials, social media, administrative tasks, and light technology-related support. This role will work closely with the senior staff, marketing team, project managers, and administrative personnel to help prepare professional documents, support internal processes, and contribute to the overall efficiency of the office.

The ideal candidate will have strong computer skills, an eye for design, excellent attention to detail, and experience or interest in using Adobe Creative Suite programs such as Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop. This position offers valuable hands-on experience in marketing, business administration, proposal development, and professional services operations.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of visual and written content for proposals, statements of qualifications, resumes, project descriptions, and other marketing materials.
  • Proofread and edit proposals, presentations, resumes, and other engineering-related documents for grammar, formatting, consistency, and accuracy.
  • Assist with social media content development, including drafting and creating LinkedIn posts that highlight company news, project updates, staff achievements, and industry involvement.
  • Support website updates and content development, including project descriptions, staff updates, news posts, and general website maintenance.
  • Coordinate with senior staff, project managers, and team members to gather information needed for proposals and marketing documents.
  • Assist with the development of visual and written content for internal and external communications.
  • Use Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, PowerPoint, or other design tools to assist with marketing and proposal materials.
  • Provide basic technology assistance to staff as needed, such as helping with basic troubleshooting of office equipment or software issues, escalating more complex matters to appropriate staff or IT support.
  • Provide general administrative support to office staff and leadership as assigned.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in college studying Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, Graphic Design, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite preferred, especially Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to learn new software quickly.
  • Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and document organization skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain consistency across documents.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, especially Adobe InDesign.
  • Experience creating social media content.
  • Basic knowledge of graphic design, branding, page layout, and document formatting.
  • Previous administrative, marketing, office, or internship experience.
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic technology or formatting issues.
  • Interest in marketing, proposal coordination, business operations, or professional services.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating with a team.
  • Positive attitude, strong problem-solving skills, and willingness to learn.
