POSITION OVERVIEW

The Analyst / Senior Analyst, Corporate Development & Strategy will support the company’s short-, medium-, and long-term corporate strategy. The ideal candidate should have a firm background in analytical and quantitative thinking and have experience in the LNG and energy industry. The role includes analysis and building of reports, presentations, financial models, and other materials with the final product ultimately being distributed to Senior VP, Corporate Development & Strategy, Senior Management and Board of Directors.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Build and maintain financial models and market research to support investment decisions.

  • Evaluate organic LNG growth opportunities at Cheniere’s Sabine Pass and Corpus Christi facilities, including incremental LNG production or entering new markets by leveraging existing infrastructure.

  • Communicate commercial and strategic direction to corporate stakeholders as projects progress through the development process

  • Evaluate inorganic growth opportunities, including but not limited to asset acquisitions, complementary investments, and new business opportunities.

  • Develop presentations for Senior Management and the Board of Directors.

  • Coordinate strategic development plans across functions within the company.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Candidate must be familiar with business/project development. Preferably will have knowledge and experience in the LNG and energy industry. 

 

Skills:

  • Strong quantitative reasoning skills, including three statement financial modeling.

  • Experience analyzing or operating within the LNG and energy industry.

  • Highly organized and motivated with strong analytical and critical thinking abilities and the ability to work without close supervision.  Individual shall demonstrate good judgment, high integrity and sound decision-making skills.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal; Must be able to articulate and understand complex issues. Ability to effectively communicate with different areas/levels within the organization.

  • Must have advanced computer skills in Excel and PowerPoint along with the ability to learn new applications.

  • Must be able to work under deadline pressure with competing priorities and must be willing to work outside of normal office hours as required. 

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Education and Certifications: Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in­­ a technical discipline such as math, statistics, economics, finance or a related field. 

 

Experience: 

  • Analyst: Minimum of two (2) years’ professional experience in business development, corporate finance, research, or similar function. Fewer years may be considered with experience in commercial/investment banking or buy-side/sell-side equity research. Energy industry experience preferred. 

  • Senior Analyst: Minimum of four (4) years’ professional experience in business development, corporate finance, research, or similar function. Fewer years may be considered with experience in commercial/investment banking or buy-side/sell-side equity research. Energy industry experience preferred.

Ability to multi-task and function in a highly dynamic atmosphere; must exercise discretion independently.

 

WORK CONDITIONS

  • Job is performed in a typical office environment, but is subject to time pressures and constraints, and is often dependent on input from others. 

  • Occasionally, work may be performed from home, after normal work hours or on weekends.

  • Subject to drug and alcohol testing, per applicable federal regulations or as required by Cheniere.
