About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Web Application Developer to support the enhancement, maintenance, and ongoing development of a large-scale, enterprise web application used by multiple public-sector agencies. This is a hands-on role within a collaborative Agile team environment focused on critical, data-driven systems.Â
Key Responsibilities
- Support a mission-critical web application used across multiple agencies
- Perform analysis, development, testing, and debugging for enhancements and bug fixes
- Collaborate with developers, stakeholders, and business users to gather and validate requirements
- Work through backlog items, user stories, and application improvements
- Troubleshoot and resolve application issues in a production environment
- Assist with application maintenance and support activities
- Participate in Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives)
- Support system documentation, testing processes, and issue resolution tracking
- Provide occasional end-user support and interaction
- Assist with reporting and batch process support as needed
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in web application development or support
- Experience with application maintenance, enhancements, and bug fixing
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- This role involves supporting a high-visibility, mission-critical system
- Candidates must be comfortable working in a collaborative, stakeholder-facing environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting enterprise-level or multi-user systems
- Exposure to public sector, government, or justice-related systems
- Experience working with systems shared across multiple agencies
- Familiarity with SQL/databases and reporting tools
- Experience with backlog management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps)
- Background in production support environments with direct user interaction
