About the Position:

We are seeking an experienced Avionics Production Manager to lead our high-performing production team through the full hardware lifecycle. In this role, you will drive the manufacturing, assembly, and vehicle integration of critical flight hardware in a fast-paced environment. The primary focus of this position is overseeing the production of flight/test wire harnessing, printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs), avionics box builds, and the final avionics integration onto our flight vehicles.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct, mentor, and develop a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, technicians, and production staff.
  • Manage daily production tasks, adjust workflows dynamically, and balance multiple priorities to meet shifting timelines.
  • Collaborate with Avionics Leadership to align daily operational goals with long-term program milestones.
  • Oversee engineering procedures, review technical drawings, and ensure strict adherence to aerospace standards.
  • Champion root-cause analysis and lead cross-functional teams to track, manage, and resolve hardware and production non-conformances to closure.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve production processes to optimize efficiency across teams.
  • Manage department budgets, forecast staffing needs, and justify capital equipment purchases.
  • Partner with supply chain teams to submit, track, and resolve procurement constraints and inventory bottlenecks.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Aerospace, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • 8+ years in aerospace manufacturing or design, with specific expertise in wire harnessing, PCBAs, EEE parts, and electromechanical assemblies.
  • 5+ years of direct supervisory experience leading engineers and technicians.
  • Proven ability to interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, and procedures.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, root-cause analysis, and cross-functional communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with a willingness to learn and adapt to evolving program/mission requirements.

Preferred Requirements: 

  • Master’s degree or certified training in management principles (e.g., conflict resolution, financial management, Lean Six Sigma).
  • Hands-on experience using Boltline or equivalent manufacturing execution systems (MES) and production tracking tools.
  • Proficiency in project scheduling software such as MS Project or equivalent.
