About Us
Monarch Sky Insurance is a property and casualty Managing General Agent (MGA) with full underwriting authority specializing in coverage for residential real estate investors engaged in fix-and-flip projects and rental properties. We partner closely with the hard money lending industry to protect investors and their lenders throughout the residential real estate investment lifecycle. We're growing our distribution network and looking for someone with lending experience seeking to join our insurance team.

The Opportunity
We're looking to hire an individual with prior work related experience in the Hard Money Lending industry as a Business Development, Strategic Partnerships. This role will drive growth for Monarch Sky by building and managing relationships with hard money lenders/private lenders to offer our niche insurance products that are specific to this industry. You do not need an insurance background — we will train you on our products, underwriting appetite, and how to position our coverage. What you need is real, working knowledge of the hard money lending space and a network of relationships you can activate from day one.

This is a relationship-driven, revenue-generating role. Success means turning lender relationships into a steady pipeline of clients.

What You'll Do
• Identify, prospect, and build relationships with hard money lenders, private lending funds, mortgage brokers, and loan servicers who originate fix-and-flip, bridge and DSCR loans
• Position our carrier as the go-to insurance partner for their borrower base, including co-marketing and referral arrangements where appropriate
• Educate lender partners and their loan officers on our coverage so they can confidently introduce us to borrowers at the point of loan closing (or earlier in the deal cycle)
• Manage a pipeline of lender and broker relationships, tracking referral volume, conversion, and retention
• Represent the company at industry events, lender conferences, and association meetings (e.g., AAPL, local REIA chapters) to expand our network
• Work cross-functionally with underwriting, marketing, and operations to ensure a smooth experience for referred investors from quote to bind
• Provide market feedback — lender needs, competitor activity, pricing pressure, coverage gaps — to help shape product and program development
• Track activity and pipeline in our CRM and report regularly on business development progress against goals

What We're Looking For
• 5+ years of experience in hard money/private lending, working directly with fix-and-flip, bridge or DSCR loan investors (as a loan officer, account executive, capital markets/business development professional, or similar)
• An existing network of relationships with hard money lenders, lending funds, brokers, or investor groups that can be leveraged for referral business
• Strong understanding of the fix-and-flip and DSCR investor lifecycle — how deals are sourced, financed, rehabbed, and exited — and where insurance fits into that process
• Proven track record of building and managing referral or channel partnerships, ideally with revenue or production targets
• Excellent relationship-building, communication, and presentation skills; comfortable being the face of the company with external partners
• Self-starter who can work independently, manage a pipeline, and travel as needed for in-person relationship building
• No insurance experience required — we'll provide full training on our products, underwriting, and processes
