SUMMARY:

The Business Office Manager is the operational and administrative backbone of the community. Partnering with the Executive Director and Regional Leadership, this role oversees the day-to-day business functions of the community — driving financial performance, supporting a strong team culture, and ensuring the community operates at its highest level.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Financial management of the community, while working to meet budgetary goals. Must be able to interpret, comment, and engage in the following: 
    • Income / Expense management 
    • Ability to read and understand property level financial statements (i.e., income statements, balance sheets, AP/AR, General Ledger Accounting Statements).
  • Identifies operational issues and implements solutions partnering with management
  • Ability to develop administrative programs and implement changes successfully
  • Implements corrective action when needed to ensure a healthy work environment for all staff
  • Ensures the facility adheres to all federal, state, and local laws and health regulations
  • Responsible for making hiring decisions as well as terminating staff members when necessary, with support from management and Corporate Human Resources Department
  • Monitor Housing Authority ledgers and Housing Authority delinquents for the site
  • Assist site with preclose and first of month billing when needed
  • Dedicated to meeting company standards and goals; open to feedback and review 
  • An exceptional ability to form relationships with staff, residents, and their families to grow tenant satisfaction and census and cater to needs
  • Works closely with all departments and can be a liaison between inter company management
  • Possesses an inherent desire to help others and make a difference in the lives of the people they encounter every day
  • Coordinate and carry out special tasks per Regional Manager’s directive
  • Other duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • 3 years’ experience in a management level role in senior living or other residential housing environments. Experience as an assistant manager of a private apartment community with responsibilities for leasing/admission, maintenance, management of administration and employees, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • High school diploma required. 
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in business is preferred. 


COMPUTER SKILLS: 

Microsoft Office Suite, Email. RESMAN, YARDI, ONSITE experience strongly preferred. Must be able to quickly adapt to new online, web-based programs used in day-to-day management. 


CERTIFICATES & LICENSES: 

Texas state driver’s license, with a clean driving record. 


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Directly supervises four or more employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
