Core Cleaner Assistant (PFC)

Job DetailsJob Location: Houston, TX 77041The core cleaner will be responsible for the cleanliness of machinery to ensure that all material is cut off from the core and prepared for the recycling procedure to be reused. This role involves physical activities and adhering to safety and quality standards. DESCRIPTION Ensure all parameters of Safety, Food Safety and Quality are being adhered to and maintained throughout the plant. Immediately report to supervisor any incident and unsafe condition. Conduct the procedure of cutting the thread off the core using a core cutting machine to clean cores for reuse and remove any residue by hand. Ensure bobbins are cleaned in a timely manner to unload the production boxes and organize for the next shift. Responsible for the designation of scrap containers and place cores in the appropriate container. Conduct a daily production report using labels and weight. Comply with all company policies, including safety, quality and housekeeping standards. Perform all tasks with a sense of urgency and accuracy. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Conduct other duties as assigned by management. COMPETENCIES Ability to work independently. Must be able to communicate effectively. Knowledge and adherence to safety regulations and protocols. Mental alertness to identify and react to machine processes, quality and safety issues. Dependable, punctual, and reliable. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while ensuring accuracy and safety Basic math and measuring ability. Be able to read and write. (English or Spanish). Familiarity with FSSC 22000:2005, GMPs, LOTO and HACCP are preferred. EXPERIENCE Previous experience in manufacturing is preferred. Sewing knowledge or a related field is a plus.   PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform repetitive tasks. Competence in operating basic tools and measuring devices (e.g., tape measure, scale). Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English to interpret instructions effectively. Ability of repetitive reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, kneeling, carrying, going up and down ladders/steps.   WORKING CONDITIONS Work is performed primarily on the manufacturing floor, which may involve exposure to loud noises, machinery, high temperatures and chemicals. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
