Now Hiring: EHS Specialist 

 

Join Mustang Cat as an EHS Specialist and play a critical role in supporting safety, compliance, and environmental initiatives across our organization. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow their career in Environmental Health & Safety while making a direct impact on employee safety and operational excellence.

 

Position Overview

The EHS Specialist supports Mustang Cat’s compliance with OSHA, DOT, MSHA, and internal safety standards. This role partners closely with leaders across all locations to promote safe work practices, reduce risk, and strengthen safety programs.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Safety & Compliance
    • Conduct safety audits and site visits across branch locations
    • Review safety documentation (DOT logs, safety folders, etc.) for compliance
    • Maintain OSHA logs, accident metrics, and safety reporting
    • Support MSHA quarterly reporting and compliance efforts
    • Monitor CSA data and partner with leaders on safe driving initiatives
  • Program Management
    • Maintain and support programs including:
    • Forklift safety
    • Ladder safety
    • Fire extinguisher inspections
    • First aid programs
    • Hydraulic jack testing
    • Assist with environmental compliance (waste disposal, oil/water separators, etc.)
    • Manage reporting platforms (ISNetworld, Avetta, Veriforce)
  • Incident & Risk Management
    • Assist with accident investigations (auto, general liability, workplace injuries)
    • Analyze safety data to identify trends and root causes
    • Partner with leadership to implement corrective actions
  • Training & Development
    • Support safety training programs, including:
      • New hire orientation
      • Weekly safety huddles
      • Monthly safety meetings
    • Assist supervisors in delivering effective safety training
    • Evaluate training effectiveness and recommend improvements
  • Collaboration
    • Partner with Operations, HR, and leadership teams
    • Participate in Safety Council meetings
    • Work with vendors and insurance representatives as needed

 

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Safety, Environmental Health, or related field
  • Strong communication, organization, and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data tracking tools
  • Ability to travel to branch locations as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental, or related field
  • Internship or early experience in EHS or safety-related role
  • Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, or MSHA regulations
  • Professional Development
  • Willingness to pursue certifications such as:
  • ASP (Associate Safety Professional)
  • CSP (Certified Safety Professional)
