Elementary STAAR Math Contract Tutor, Grades 4-5

We are currently seeking Elementary STAAR Math tutors for grades 3-5 from January to April 2026 with the qualifications described below.

Qualifications: 

• A current Texas teacher certification in Elementary Education (EC-6), Mathematics (4-8), or related content area. 
• 3+ years of relevant teaching experience in elementary mathematics. 
• 2 to 3 professional references who can speak to your effectiveness as a classroom instructor, including a Principal or Assistant Principal. 
• Verified passage of a background check via a Texas school district or similar entity within the last 3 years. 
• Strong knowledge of the 3rd to 5th grade Math TEKS standards. 
• Successful STAAR Math student achievement scores.
• Availability to tutor 3 days per week across 11 to 12 weeks during school hours for 4 to 6 hours per day in North Houston (Spring). 
• Experience with small group interventions and test preparation strategies that have been proven to increase student achievement. 
• Ability to collect, analyze, and utilize data to drive interventions. 
• Ability to build strong relationships with students and staff quickly. 

Consultant (Tutor) will be expected to:

• Create and implement individualized student support plans focused on STAAR Math readiness. 
• Monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed. 
• Utilize data to identify student learning growth and/or mastery as well as areas for improvement. 
• Implement targeted interventions aligned to STAAR Math objectives. 
• Manage student behavior in tutorial groups. 

Job Type: Contract

Schedule: January to April 2026, 11-12 weeks, 3 visits per week, 4 to 6 hours per visit
