Engineer II

 Position Summary:Â
An Engineer II develops, designs, and analyzes electrical power systems and substations. The engineer works within a design team to create all technical documents including bills of material, specifications, and design drawings.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Creates designs under supervision of a Senior Engineer
- Provides technical guidance to designers and draftersÂ
- Specifies major equipment such as generators, transformers, circuit breakers and switchgearÂ
- Controls quality of specified equipment and design packagesÂ
- Supervises production of technical drawings such as one-line diagrams, protection and control schematics, interconnection drawings, equipment arrangement plans, section views, grounding plans, conduit plans, cable tray plans and all associated installation detailsÂ
- Performs electrical studies such as power flow, short-circuit, device evaluation, device coordination, static and dynamic motor starting, harmonic analysis, ground grid analysis and arc-flash hazard assessmentÂ
- Acts as a company representative and manages correspondence between clients, suppliers and coworkersÂ
- Takes ownership and responsibility with each project
- Perform other job-related duties as requested by management.
Qualifications:
- BSEE from ABET approved universityÂ
- 2 – 6 years’ experience
- Passed Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam
- NCEES record a plus
- Participation in professional societies, particularly IEEEÂ
- Understanding of industry standards and guidelines including ANSI, IEEE, NEMA, NEC, NESC, and othersÂ
- Understanding constructability of design, field concepts, practices, and procedures
