As a crew member we do require cross- training across all Aquatic's positions including: Swim Instructor, Deck Coordinator, and Lifeguard.  
Swim Instructor Key Responsibilities

  • Teach beginner and intermediate swim lessons with a focus on safety and foundational skills.
  • Build positive relationships with students and parents by regularly communicating progress and addressing questions.
  • Maintain a safe and organized environment throughout lessons by adhering to established safety protocols.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to improve teaching skills and stay up-to-date with curriculum updates.
  • Support the team by participating in meetings, reviewing lesson plans, and collaborating with lead instructors.

Deck Coordinator Key Responsibilities 

  • Welcome and assist families as they arrive for lessons. 
  • Escort students to and from their assigned classes. 
  • Take and track attendance for all scheduled lessons. 
  • Communicate with parents regarding class logistics and general questions. 
  • Support instructors by helping maintain an organized and efficient lesson flow. 
  • Coordinate with customer care staff to address scheduling, attendance, and customer concerns. 
  • Monitor the pool deck to ensure safety, cleanliness, and organization. 
  • Assist with managing student transitions between classes and activities.

Available Shifts

  • Weekdays: 2:45 pm – 7:30 pm
  • Saturdays or Sundays: 7:45 am - 1:30 pm

Requirements

Experience:

  • Competitive swim background highly preferred but not required.
  • Previous experience teaching swim lessons is preferred but not required.
  • 6 months of swim instruction experience preferred (not required).

Certifications:

  • LG certification required. Company-sponsored training is available; employee pays all course and certification fees.
  • The candidate must be able to meet the requirements to pass Lifeguard certification, including:
    • Swimming at least 200 yards continuously.
    • Treading water for 2 minutes.
    • Retrieving a 10-pound brick from the bottom of the pool and swimming with it above the surface.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Strong communication skills for engaging with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • A caring, compassionate approach with children and adults.
  • Ability to work in the water for up to 5-hour periods.
  • A positive attitude and openness to feedback and coaching.
  • Ability to focus and perform well in a fast-paced environment.

Commitment:

  • Must be able to commit to at least one year of employment.
  • Afternoon and weekend availability required.
