Position Summary:

Kodiak Interiors Group is growing & seeking an experienced, creative & fun individual to join our Marketing team. The Event Coordinator will have feet-on-the-ground responsibilities for scheduling and executing events for our nine (9) Texas-based FBS Appliance locations. This position reports to the FBS Houston showroom located at 8700 Fallbrook Drive, Houston TX 77064 and various event locations as needed. An ideal candidate should have flexible hours including nights and weekends (as necessary), be willing to travel in and out of state, have basic social media knowledge, and have ample experience planning and coordinating events. This individual should be familiar with or have relevant experience using event registration software such as Constant Contact and should be comfortable working with a team. 


Responsibilities:

  • Partner with FBS and Marketing leadership to coordinate, schedule and staff events including communicating with venues, vendors, talent, rental companies, chefs, catering companies and other support teams as needed.
  • Creates and distributes event registration emails using Constant Contact and communicate details pertaining to events to KIG Marketing Team members in various states. 
  • Event set up and tear down including, but not limited to, shopping, decorating, moving tables, furniture/catering equipment, cleaning, removing trash, and bussing tables.
  • Event staff accountabilities such as greeting /checking in guests, coat check, and other general duties.
  • Responsible for FBS content development including taking photos and recording videos for marketing use; leverages social media platforms for marketing purposes.
  • Performs additional marketing/event-related tasks as assigned including basic graphic design using tools such as Canva.
  • Performs business development duties as assigned including, but not limited to, delivering treats or flyers to local businesses or at local events in addition to attending or participating in industry association events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Digital Media, or equivalent experience.
  • Prior event coordination and social media experience required.
  • Self motivated and exhibits sound decision making with strong organization, prioritization and time management skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems, manage multiple priorities, and demonstrates an engaging and customer focused mindset.
  • Reliable, creative, and team oriented.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel.


Physical Requirements:

  • Sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a kitchen showroom environment
  • Operate cameras, computers, lighting, and production equipment.
  • Travel by automobile and airplane as required.


Work Environment:

This is an office-based position at our FBS location in Houston, TX, with frequent travel to appliance showrooms across the state, corporate offices, trade events, and our additional operating companies across the United States. Work may occur in office settings, event venues, showrooms, outdoor locations, and construction environments.
